Hi, I'm Michael Eder, founder of MKM Homes.
I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and my journey into real estate began in an unexpected way...
How It All Started
In 2022, I moved to Kansas City to start my career as a traveling medical field service technician for 3M.
Spending my days driving throughout the city, I became familiar with neighborhoods all over Kansas City and started noticing things most people would overlook—new construction, renovated homes, "For Sale" signs, recently sold properties, and abandoned houses sitting untouched.
I often found myself wondering what happened to those neglected properties and who was responsible for transforming them into homes that families could be proud of.
Family, Faith & Purpose
While living in Kansas City, I met my wife, Ki'Re, who has become an important part of both my life and this business.
Ki'Re has a passion for interior design, home aesthetics, renovations, and creating beautiful curb appeal. She has a unique ability to see potential where others see problems, and that vision helps shape every project we take on.
Ki'Re also introduced me to the Seventh-day Adventist Church, beginning our Christian faith journey together.
Our faith plays a major role in how we operate as business owners. Our goal is to reflect Christ's love through honesty, integrity, compassion, and service.
Why Real Estate?
In 2024, we moved back to Ann Arbor, Michigan.
After returning, I began working throughout Metro Detroit helping homeowners through door-to-door sales.
During that time, I noticed something remarkable.
Homes that once appeared abandoned and neglected were being transformed into beautiful residences occupied by new families.
Seeing those transformations firsthand sparked a deeper interest in real estate and the opportunities it creates for both homeowners and communities.
As I continued learning about investing, renovations, rentals, and house flipping, I realized something important:
Real estate isn't just about houses. It's about helping people solve problems.
Many homeowners face difficult situations—inheritance issues, costly repairs, foreclosure concerns, problem tenants, unwanted properties, or major life changes.
That's why MKM Homes was created.
Our mission is to create win-win solutions by helping homeowners sell distressed or unwanted properties through a straightforward, hassle-free process while giving those homes a second chance.
For us, every property is an opportunity—not just to renovate a house, but to create a home where another family can begin a new chapter.
As a newer company, we don't claim to have all the answers. What we can promise is that every homeowner will be treated with honesty, respect, and compassion.
